Reaching for the Life Preserver....

Before I tell you what is on my heart, I want to say a few things about this past weekend....

A shout out to my new peeps at Oak Ridge! WOW... what a great weekend we had! I didn’t get a chance to say thank you to the 7th an 8th grade girls for their little surprise for me Saturday! I want you to know it made my weekend!

So, here was the weekend. Friday night was the mother daughter banquet. It was a precious, precious time. It’s overwhelming to see all the pain that women and girls are going through but it’s awesome to see God meet each one of them right where they are! There are several girls that have been on my heart very heavy since that night. I won’t say the names but if any of you are reading this, I am sure you know who you are J

I just want to encourage you to follow through on all the things we talked about. Work through the bible study I gave you and let me know if you have any questions.  I am sorry for all the hurt you have been through but I am excited at how God has shon Himself to you. HE Knew what you needed to hear and He wanted you to see how much He loves you!

Saturday was incredible too.  Every one was so friendly that I really felt at home. That is good because we had a lot of serious things to cover. My favorite is still the beauty for ashes ceremony. I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing that! The day was everything we prayed for and I love the women and girls of that church.

Now, onto what's burnung inside me to say

God has been showing me so much about our neediness and what it looks like. One of the analogies He gave me sums it up best. Some people are so needy they reach out like a drowning person for a life preserver. They reach and struggle and fight their way to make sure no one else gets it and to hang on for dear life. That was the neediness in my life before He set me Free. BUT... there is another neediness that is just as dangerous and harmful. It;s the need to be the life preserver! If we are not careful, we could go from one to the other and not know it~

We can never be the answer- we can only point people to the answer. Sometimes, God will allow you to be in both places at once so you will never be either again.

Did that make sense?    It did to me. God is so good!

Now.. I have to brag on Hunter. He was nominated by his teachers for student of the month. That means they like him YEAH Hunter!!!!

Thats all for tonight....  Keep serving your KING!!
